2007-08-04Richard M.Visited Foxwoods tonight. They have added a new Namco machine (or at least it's the first time it was brought to my attention, it's quite possible that the machine has been there for a few months). Anyway, they now have two Namcos. One is the standard Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga "class of 1981", and the newer one is a Ms. Pac-Man/Pac-Man/Galaga, so you don't need the "secret joystick sequence" to play Pac-Man. I don't know how many of these games exist, but I have never seen one like this before.
2005-09-25Richard M.As Dave stated on 7/29, this is a good-sized arcade on two levels. It's no Funspot, but it is a good-sized place which has their ticket-spewing machines on the first level, and various video and pinball machines on the second level. In my opinion, the touch-screen machines (basically the Megatouch game you see in bars) are a bit pricey at $1 a pop. At least that was the price the last time I played them.
2005-07-29DaveI go to Foxwoods about once a month, and when I'm tired of losing money at Blackjack, I hit the arcade. I don't care for ticket redemption much, so I go straight upstairs to the video games. Last time I was there, I played air hockey, South Park pinball, Time Crisis 2, and then sat down at one of those touch screen computers for some Turbo 21 (make as many hands of 21 as you can in the time limit) and Hoop Jones (fast paced basketball). I wish they'd get Super Qix, or Root Beer Tapper to go with the classic games. It's worth a stop if you go to Foxwoods.
2005-05-08Richard M.Visited Treehouse last night. I have never seen an arcade change the settings for Galaga (on the Ms. Pac-Man Galaga machine) so frequently as Treehouse. The last four times I was there they were on different settings! (Last night, factory settings except for fast bullets.) They have added a Donkey Kong/Donkey Kong Jr./Mario Bros. machine which should be of interest to classic gamers.
2005-03-19Richard M.Galaga (on the Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga machine) restored to factory defaults. Fire button works very well. When I left, the #2 score on Galaga was 468K. Did not play Ms. Pac-Man; the high score was 181K.
2004-08-08Richard M.All classic games here take tokens. When these games were at the Fox Arcade they took quarters. Centipede/Millipede/Missile Command is one token per play, the others are two tokens, although Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga is one token to continue. Galaga's fire button is a little flakey, working 90-95% of the time and then not working when I really need it to. But I did succeed in maxing out the scores on that game; until management resets the scores it is no longer possible to enter initials for Galaga.
2004-07-30Richard M.This arcade is just a few feet from the old Fox Arcade. It is just across from Slots 360 (the place with the fountain amidst all the slot machines.) The arcade has two levels, and the three machines in question are on the upper level. This arcade is much more spacious than the old one.
